Aaron Judge Ties Alex Rodriguez for 6th on Yankees' All-Time HR List, Praises 'Legend'
New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge hit his 36th homer of the 2025 season on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves. It was also the 351st dinger of his career, tying him with Alex Rodriguez for sixth all-time in Yankees history.
"Just an incredible honor, especially, you know, growing up watching A-Rod for so many years and watching what he did in pinstripes," Judge told reporters. "He's a legend. One of the best ever players."
Judge now trails just Babe Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536), Lou Gehrig (493), Joe DiMaggio (361) and Yogi Berra (358) on the Yankees' all-time homers list, a legendary collection of Hall of Famers. He will likely pass both Berra and DiMaggio this season.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The 33-year-old is on a pretty torrid pace, trying Rodriguez in just 1,091 career games. Rodriguez, meanwhile, spent 13 years and 1,509 games with the Yankees.
Judge has also avoided the type of controversy that tainted Rodriguez's time in New York. While Rodriguez won a pair of MVP awards and a World Series title with the Bronx Bombers, he was also suspended for the entire 2014 season for violating MLB's PED policy as part of the Biogenesis scandal and admitted in 2009 to using a banned substance previously in his career.
While Judge hasn't managed to lead the Yankees to a title, he does have two MVP awards and was the 2017 AL Rookie of the Year. The seven-time All-Star is also currently the favorite to win his third MVP award this season, though Cal Raleigh—and perhaps Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal—could have something to say about that down the stretch.
It remains to be seen how many years Judge has left in the sport, though if he keeps his current home run pace for a few more years, he's going to exceed 500 dingers for his career and will be remembered as one of the greatest Yankees ever. Given the organization's list of Hall of Famers, that's no small feat.
