Mason Miller Reportedly Won't Be Traded by Athletics At 2025 MLB Deadline
Right-hander Mason Miller reportedly will not be traded by the MLB trade deadline, as the Athletics have told teams they are “wasting their time by even calling,” according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
The Athletics closer has 19 saves this season, along with a 4.04 ERA, 57 strikeouts and a 1.07 WHIP. Now in his third season, Miller has spent his entire career with Oakland.
He made his big league debut in 2023 and was installed as the team’s closer to start the 2024 season.

While the club has shown no intent to move him, Miller told Foul Territory’s A.J. Pierzynski in March that the team had not discussed a contract extension with him, though he said at the time he was open to one.
"I'm just going to keep doing what I do," Miller said.
That he will.
The 26-year-old appears set to remain with the 42-59 A’s through the end of the season as the MLB trade deadline approaches. The deadline is set for July 31 at 6 p.m. ET.
