After being rewarded with a massive contract extension on Monday, New York Jets star receiver Garrett Wilson delivered a positive message to the fans.

Wilson took to social media to react to his four-year, $130 million extension that includes $90 million guaranteed and said that "despite the ups and downs" of the last three seasons for the Jets, "the faith is mutual."

Wilson, who is now the fifth-highest-paid receiver in the NFL with an average of $32.5 million per year, is coming off a 2024 season in which he recorded career highs last season in receptions (101), receiving yards (1,104) and touchdowns (seven), but the Jets finished with a 5-12 record and missed the playoffs for the 14th straight year.

Since being selected with the No. 10 pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Wilson has experienced some high points that have been greatly overshadowed by the team's low moments. Still, he has persevered to become one of the faces of the franchise and one of the most promising young stars in the league.

Wilson was the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and is the first Jets player since George Sauer in 1966-1968 to record three straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Per ESPN's Rich Cimini, the 24-year-old is one of only five players in NFL history to record 1,000 receiving yards and 80 receptions in each of his first three seasons, alongside Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Michael Thomas and Odell Beckham Jr.

The Jets are entering a new era with first-year head coach Aaron Glenn and quarterback Justin Fields, who played with Wilson at Ohio State. The 2025 season could see Wilson reach even greater heights as he continues to establish himself as one of the best receivers in the NFL.
