
NBA Summer League 2025 Hot Takes on Bronny, Harper, Filipowski, More for Day 5 Results
Regulation was not going to be enough to settle every Day 5 game.
Two games went to overtime while several others were close. Some notable players sat while others showed why they should get more looks when the regular season comes around.

Kobe Bufkin's 25 Points Lead Hawks to OT Victory
The day started with a thriller between the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets. Atlanta won 111-108 in overtime and third-year guard led the charge with 25 points.
While it was a solid performance, some fans see improvement from the 21-year-old while others are looking for more.
Bufkin is averaging 21.3 points, five assists and five rebounds through three Summer League games.
Matas Buzelis and Noa Essengue lead the way for Chicago
The Chicago Bulls defeated the Indiana Pacers and it's safe to say the rising talent led the way.
The team's 2024-and-2025 first-round picks combined for 49 points in the winning effort and fans believe the future could be bright for their franchise.
This was the Bulls first win of the Summer League and they hope that the win over the defending Eastern Conference Champions can give them a boost.
Cooper Flagg-less Mavericks Look Depleted
Dallas did not look good without the 2025 No. 1 pick.
The team shut down Cooper Flagg after his first two NBA Summer League games and the third game was a drubbing at the hands of the Charlotte Hornets in which the Mavericks managed just 69 points.
His former Duke teammate, Kon Kneuppel, scored 16 points and grabbed 10 in the winning effort and garnered some support.
Heat Best Celtics with Balanced Scoring
It was a tight matchup between Boston and Miami but the team from South Beach was the one that secured the victory.
Three players on Miami, Pelle Larsson, Keshad Johnson and Kel'el Ware, exceeded 20 points as the team hopes this depth can help the team succeed next season.
Miami is now 1-2 but the elimination of the Celtics should make things feel pretty good.
Dylan Harper's Spurs Win Tight Contest Over Ace Bailey-less Jazz
The first matchup between former Rutgers teammates Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey will be saved for the regular season.
Harper made his second appearance in the Summer League and put quite a stamp on the game, sinking a shot to send it to overtime.
Fans expressed excitement in his ability after a 16-point performance.
While Bailey wasn't available, Kyle Filipowski was able to show his stuff to hopeful Jazz fans. He scored 35 points and had 11 rebounds and nearly willed the team to victory.
Kings Win Keeps Team in Contention
Sneakily, the Sacramento Kings are 3-0.
The team cruised to a 94-76 win over the Phoenix Suns and appear to have won over fans of the Summer League.
The Kings are one of just four remaining undefeated teams at the NBA Summer League

Lakers fans are feeling a bit odd about their 2024 Draft picks. Second-round pick Bronny James shined in the team's BLANK
The Lakers are now 1-2 on the Summer slate and will hope to finish strong and build momentum for the regular season.
