MLB Draft 2025 Betting Odds and Prop Picks for Ethan Holliday, Gage Wood and More
There's one notable baseball name among the top prospects for the 2025 MLB draft.
High school infielder Ethan Holliday, the son of Matt and brother of Jackson, is expected to be the top prep bat chosen on Sunday. He could be the top hitter selected out of the entire draft class.
The current odds favor Holliday going No. 4 to his dad's former team, the Colorado Rockies.

Holliday, LSU pitcher Kade Anderson and Tennessee hurler Liam Doyle are the top prospects in the draft class. But while their positions are almost set, there are players on the rise, including those who starred in the College World Series.
Ethan Holliday to be No. 4 Overall Pick (-185)
It's easy to be nostalgic about Ethan Holliday going to the Colorado Rockies at No. 4.
The prep infielder would be going to the franchise where his father, Matt, made a name for himself during his major league career.
Although he is -185 to be the No. 4 overall pick, he might not make it there. Joel Reuter of B/R projected Holliday would be the No. 1 overall pick in his latest mock draft.
As of Thursday afternoon, the 18-year-old was +175 to be the top pick. LSU pitcher Kade Anderson is -220 to go to the Washington Nationals.
Colorado is the floor for Holliday, and if the top collegiate pitchers go in the top three, he'll be a lock to go to the Rockies.
Gage Wood Under 17.5 Draft Position (+120)
Gage Wood's draft stock surged at the College World Series.
The Arkansas hurler tossed a 19-strikeout no-hitter in Omaha to, at minimum, solidify himself as a first-round pick.
Reuter mocked Wood to the Tampa Bay Rays at No. 14 in his latest projection.
A handful of teams selecting from No. 11-17 are in need of pitching, and some will specifically target collegiate hurlers who don't need much time to reach the majors.
The Minnesota Twins are also an intriguing landing spot at No. 16, especially if they turn into sellers at the trade deadline.
Wehiwa Aloy Under 17.5 Draft Position (-175)
Wehiwa Aloy possesses a special blend of offensive prowess and defensive strengths at shortstop.
The power at the plate will intrigue teams in the middle of the first round because you simply don't get that at the position.
Aloy, 25, won the 2025 Golden Spikes winner after producing 21 home runs, 68 RBI and 19 doubles at Arkansas.
The San Francisco Giants at No. 13 and Chicago Cubs at No. 17 stand out as teams that could use more power from the middle infield spots. Reuter projected Aloy to the Cubs.
Aloy is a far more complete prospect than most of the players expected to be available in the middle of the first round, and it would be a surprise to see him drop past No. 18 given his unique skill set.
