MLB All-Star Voting 2025 for AL, NL Starting Rosters, Leaders and Final Results

Scott PolacekJul 2, 2025

Baseball's stars shine the brightest at the Midsummer Classic every season, and this year will be no different.

The starters for the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game were revealed Wednesday on ESPN for the contest that will take place on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani were already known as the leading vote-getters during Phase 1, but here is a look at those who also emerged from Phase 2 of voting:

Shortstop: Jacob Wilson, Athletics

Third Base: José Ramírez, Cleveland Guardians

Outfield: Aaron Judge, New York Yankees; Javier Báez, Detroit Tigers; Riley Greene, Detroit Tigers

National League Starters

First Base: Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Second Base: Ketel Marte, Arizona Diamondbacks

Shortstop: Francisco Lindor, New York Mets

Third Base: Manny Machado, San Diego Padres

Outfield: Ronald Acuña Jr., Atlanta Braves; Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs; Kyle Tucker, Chicago Cubs

Catcher: Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers

Designated Hitter: Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers

Thomas Harrigan of MLB.com explained "the top two finishers at each position moved on to the second phase of voting, as well as the top six AL outfielders. With Judge clinching a spot as the AL's leading vote-getter, only the next four AL outfielders advanced to Phase 2."

Vote totals were then reset after the initial phase of voting as the starters were then determined from a smaller list.

The next step in the process is revealing the 23 pitchers and reserves for each league, which will happen Sunday at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN. Each team in the league must have at least one representative in the game, which could impact who is selected.

With the game taking place in the home of the Atlanta Braves, the National League will look to turn around recent history.

The American League won last year 5-3 and has taken home 10 of the last 11 contests. The only victory for the Senior Circuit in that span came during the 2023 campaign.

Yet the National League has plenty of star power to perhaps start a streak of its own this season. Ohtani immediately jumps out as someone who can both anchor the lineup and even pitch if needed, although it would be a surprise to see him take the mound in an exhibition contest seeing how he is just returning to that role following injury.

That he and Judge were the top vote-getters and already knew they would be included is fitting, as they are the two biggest stars in the sport and will surely be front and center during the entirety of the All-Star festivities.

It's not often they get to face off against each other seeing how they play in different leagues on different sides of the country, but they will each have an opportunity to earn some bragging rights in Atlanta later this month.
