Diamondbacks Ban Fan for Rest of 2025 MLB Season for Interfering Multiple Times
The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Tuesday that a fan who has interfered on multiple plays over the past few years has been banned from Chase Field for the rest of the 2025 season.
The fan has been a part of five different interference calls over the past four years, with all of those instances coming when he reached over the outfield wall to catch a ball that could have either left that yard or stayed in play.

The most recent incident occurred Monday when the Diamondbacks faced the San Francisco Giants. The Giants' Christian Koss hit a ball deep, and it appeared to have a chance to be a game-tying home run in the eighth inning, but the fan leaned over the wall to grab the ball.
The play was initially ruled a home run, but the call was overturned after a review, and Koss was awarded a double. The fan was ejected from the game. Rafael Devers and Heliot Ramos struck out following Koss' double, and the Giants failed to produce a run in the ninth, giving the Diamondbacks the win.
It's unclear whether the fan was aware that the ball had a chance of staying in the park or if he thought it had already cleared the wall. Either way, it cost him the chance to watch the Diamondbacks at Chase Field for the rest of the season.
With the risk of the fan causing any more interferences now diverted, the Diamondbacks will look to put together a strong second half of the season. Arizona is 42-42 after Monday's win and sits four games back in the wild-card race.
As for the now-banned fan, he'll have to watch games at Chase Field from home for the rest of the year, but he will be able to attend games next year. After being banned, he'll likely avoid going for home run balls for a while.
