2K Teases New College Basketball Video Game, 'Campus Has Been Quiet for Too Long 😏'

It appears as if college basketball fans are going to have multiple video games to choose from in the near future.

NBA 2K responded to a social media post Monday that said 2K Sports should be making a new college basketball game with the message "campus has been quiet for too long."

The company also released the following statement: "2K is the undisputed home of basketball gaming. We have a strong history with college hoops and are exploring exciting new ways to bring athletes and schools to life. Class is in session."

The timing of the announcement is certainly notable, as EA Sports announced Monday it is bringing back its college basketball video game series:

EA Sports has not made a college basketball game since NCAA Basketball 10, but it recently revitalized its college football game last year to massive success. The college football game is returning again this year, and its success in the name, image and likeness era surely contributed to the decision to bring back the college basketball one.

Matt Brown of Extra Points reported the new EA Sports college basketball game will be released in 2028 and feature both men's and women's players and teams.

EA Sports is not the only video game company with a history of making college basketball titles.

There were also 2K college basketball games in the past, and it seems like they might be on the way back as well. The company makes the hugely popular NBA 2K video game series every year, and gamers are certainly familiar with its basketball formula.

That formula may be going back to school soon.
