Syracuse incoming freshman Kiyan Anthony is following in his legendary father's footsteps in more ways than one.
In addition to attending Carmelo Anthony's alma mater, it was revealed in a welcome video on Monday that the youngster will be wearing the No. 7 jersey, which his dad famously began wearing during his time with the New York Knicks.

Kiyan Anthony wore No. 3 during his time at Long Island Lutheran High School. He graduated earlier this month and arrived on campus at Syracuse on Monday alongside the team's transfers and two of the other four incoming freshmen.
247Sports' composite ranked Anthony as its No. 8 shooting guard and No. 34 overall player in the class of 2025. He committed to Syracuse over offers from USC, Florida State, Arizona State and others, saying that his father's influence played a big part in his decision.
"From day one, when they started recruiting me, they made me feel like it was family," he said during an appearance on his dad's 7PM in Brooklyn podcast last November. "My dad's name on the facility is special, but I want to go in there and create my own name, and I've already done that through my dedication in the offseason, with early-morning practices, playing at camps, playing on the circuit."
Wearing No. 15, Carmelo Anthony led Syracuse to its first and only NCAA tournament championship in 2003, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors. Kiyan will certainly be motivated to make a similar impact for the Orange as he continues to work his way toward a career in the NBA.
