The Athletics held a groundbreaking ceremony at the new stadium site on Monday.
The club is currently set to play at Sutter Health Park, home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats, through 2027 while the new venue is constructed.
KTNV's Nick Walters, Sporting Tribune's Arash Markazi and Clark County shared more images of the site ahead of Monday's groundbreaking ceremony.
The A's current ballpark has a capacity of 14,000. The club is currently averaging an MLB-low 9,722 fans per home game this season.
The Athletics are set to more than double that capacity after the club's eventual move to Las Vegas, where the new ballpark will be able to fit 33,000 fans.
The venue will be located on the Las Vegas Strip, where the Tropicana casino formerly stood.
The groundbreaking doesn't mark the start of the A's effort to construct a new stadium for the former Oakland team.
A’s vice chairman Sandy Dean told Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review Journal on April 24 that the franchise had begun grading the land, or leveling the area in order to begin construction of the foundation.
The A's then announced later in April that the club would open an "experience center" where fans can virtually preview the future stadium in Spring Valley, a suburb of Las Vegas.
The Athletics were known as the Oakland Athletics from 1968 to 2024. The franchise is set to join the Las Vegas Raiders, Las Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Aces as the city's fourth professional team ahead of the 2028 MLB season.
