Caitlin Clark Records Double-Double as Aliyah Boston, Fever Lose to A'ja Wilson, Aces

Timothy RappJun 22, 2025

The Las Vegas Aces haven't had a banner season to this point, but they had a different gear than the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark could match on Sunday.

The Aces overcame a 10-point deficit to beat the Fever, 89-81, salting the game with a 15-6 run after the two teams were tied at 69 with 4:23 remaining. The Aces held on from there, ending a three-game losing streak.

A'ja Wilson (24 points, seven rebounds) and Jackie Young (19 points, seven boards) led a balanced Aces attack, with five players in double-digit scoring. The win improved Las Vegas to 6-7 on the season.

It was a rough shooting day for Clark, meanwhile, who finished with 19 points but did so on 7-of-20 shooting from the field (1-of-10 from three). She added 11 assists but negated some of that playmaking with eight turnovers.

Aliyah Boston (26 points, 10 rebounds) and Kelsey Mitchell (20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the fielded) had strong performances for Indiana in the loss. The Fever's bench let them down, however, as the Aces' reserves outscored Indiana's backups by an 18-2 margin.

The Fever are now 6-7 on the season.

Clark, meanwhile, finds herself in a bit of a shooting slump. In the past two games she's shot just 1-of-17 from deep and 10-of-34 from the field. Add in her 14 total turnovers and it's been a rough stretch.

Her deep threes are a hallmark of her game, and she'll likely get hot soon enough. It probably isn't a coincidence that the Fever have lost two straight games, however, given their star player's shooting woes.

When Clark is hitting on all cylinders, the Fever are a scary matchup. In the Fever's four wins with Clark in the lineup, she's shooting 15-of-33 (45.4 percent) from three. In the team's four losses with her in the lineup, she's shot 8-of-39 (20.5 percent) from deep.

It's would probably an understatement to say that there is correlation at work in those numbers. Sometimes sports are pretty simple.
