Phillies' J.T. Realmuto Explains Scoring Behind Nick Castellanos in Viral MLB Video
In a scene lifted straight out of Rookie of the Year, Nick Castellanos and J.T. Realmuto almost scored at the exact same time in the Philadelphia Phillies' 10-2 win over the New York Mets on Friday night.
The play occurred in the bottom of the seventh on Bryson Stott's double with the bases loaded that scored three runs when Castellanos was on second base and Realmuto was on first.

Speaking to reporters about the play after the win, Realmuto knew it was either going to be a great or disastrous moment for the Phillies with no in-between.
"Rounding third base, in my head, I was like, 'We're either going to both be out or both be safe.' ... I couldn't help myself. I think I was smiling the whole time. Like I said, it's one of those plays you never really prepare for, so it was fun to be a part of," Realmuto said.
The ball hung in the air long enough that Castellanos was playing it safe just in case Mets centerfielder Tyrone Taylor was able to catch it. Realmuto, to his credit, had a strong read of the ball off the bat and took off immediately.
Per MLB.com's Paul Casella, the time between Castellanos and Realmuto touching home plate was 0.3 seconds.
In addition to providing a fun moment for themselves and the sellout crowd at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies continued their recent hot streak. They have eight victories in their last nine games and moved one game ahead of the Mets for the top spot in the NL East.
