The fan was initially removed by security for the action but eventually returned and received a signed bat from Frelick after the game, via the Associated Press (h/t ESPN).
"They took it from him," Frelick said following the victory, per JR Radcliffe and Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I thought he got kicked out, and then for my next at-bat he's just back at his seat but (he told me) they took the bat, though."
"I spoke to him when I was on deck because I was surprised he was back there (in his seat)," he added.
Frelick finished 1-for-5 against Chicago on Thursday, but Milwaukee racked up 12 hits and three home runs as a team to improve to 40-35 on the season. The Brewers now sit 5.5 games back from the Cubs for the No. 1 spot in the National League Central.
After earning Gold Glove honors in 2024, Frelick has taken a step forward offensively at the top of Milwaukee's lineup this season.
He's recorded four home runs, 26 RBIs and 14 stolen bases while posting a career-high .736 OPS in 2025. Frelick has been particularly sharp at the plate lately, hitting .307 over his last 30 games.
The 25-year-old also made sure to acknowledge the fan that went to great lengths to secure his loose bat on Thursday.
