NFL Exec Hypes Cowboys' Pickens After Trade, 'When He's Covered, He's Really Open'
Having relied heavily on CeeDee Lamb for the past two seasons, the Dallas Cowboys' acquisition of George Pickens this offseason is being widely praised as a boost for their offense.
One AFC personnel man told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that Pickens is a matchup problem because "when he's covered, he's really open."
The Pittsburgh Steelers traded Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round draft pick to Dallas in exchange for a third-round pick in 2026 and fifth-rounder in 2027. It's a low-cost deal for a Cowboys team that had no obvious No. 2 receiver on the roster before the move.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Pickens thrived for three seasons with the Steelers, despite inconsistent quarterback play throughout his tenure with the club. They used five different starting quarterbacks during that time.
Since entering the NFL in 2022, Pickens has caught 174 passes for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns. His tape is full of highlight-reel moments that very few receivers in the league would be capable of making.
Pickens' numbers could go up playing in Dallas because of how much attention Lamb is going to get from opposing defenses. It also helps that Dak Prescott will be the best quarterback he's played with in the NFL.
Considering Pickens reportedly isn't looking to sign a contract extension now, despite having just one year remaining on his rookie deal, this season is a chance for him to increase his value and cash in with a big offer from either Dallas or another club next offseason.
