Yankees' Aaron Judge Says He's 'Got to Swing at Strikes' After Struggles vs. Red Sox
New York Yankees star Aaron Judge had his worst performance of the season this weekend as the team was swept by the rival Boston Red Sox, going 1-for-12 over the three-game series.
After Sunday's 2-0 loss, Judge blamed his poor showing on swinging at pitches outside of the strike zone.
"You got to swing at strikes," Judge said, per the Associated Press.

Judge's lone hit was his dramatic ninth-inning home run in Friday's series opener, but it wasn't enough to get the Yankees a win. He struck out three more times in Sunday's loss and nine times in the series, marking the third time in his major league career that he struck out three or more times in three straight games.
"That usually helps any hitter when you swing at strikes," Judge added. "Definitely some pitches off the edge or off the edge in, you know, taking some hacks just trying to make something happen."
Judge's disappointing showing had a trickle-down effect on the rest of the Yankees, as they scored just four runs over the three-game series. This marked the first time that New York lost three straight games since early May.
"It's very hard," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said of facing Judge. "He's so good at what he does. We used our fastballs in the right spots, we got some swing and misses."
Despite his lack of production at the plate, Judge still leads the majors with a .378 batting average. He will try to get back to his usual level of production when the Yankees (42-28) open a four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels (33-37) on Monday.
