Terry McLaurin Reportedly 'Frustrated' With Commanders Contract Talks Amid NFL Rumors
Washington Commanders star receiver Terry McLaurin has skipped mandatory minicamp this week over his unhappiness with negotiations for a new contract.
During an appearance on Thursday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that while Washington "feels like it's gonna get something done" with its No. 1 wideout, McLaurin "clearly is frustrated with where talks are at."

Schefter noted that McLaurin "hasn't participated in any of the team's offseason activities, he's been a no-show for that," in addition to skipping this week's mandatory minicamp. The 29-year-old is set to make $19.6 million in the final year of his current contract, but he's made it clear that he feels he deserves a long-term deal.
"Here's a guy that is immensely respected, widely beloved within that organization and city," Schefter said. "He has been the face of that franchise until Jayden Daniels came in and essentially took that crown, but elevated the play of Terry McLaurin."
In his first year with Daniels as his quarterback, McLaurin recorded 82 catches for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns, marking his first time scoring over 10 touchdowns in a single season since entering the league as a third-round draft pick in 2019.
Despite McLaurin's visible unhappiness, there is some optimism about his chances of earning an extension from Washington. Schefter added, "I believe that the two sides will find a way to figure it out at some point in time; they're just not there right now."
The Commanders will begin training camp next month, so there's still some time to negotiate a new deal for McLaurin before he carries his holdout into the most important part of the offseason.
