Nick Chubb Dismisses Knee, Foot Injuries After Texans Contract, 'That's All Behind Me'
Nick Chubb had the past two seasons derailed by injuries, but the Houston Texans running back is looking to turn a new leaf with his new squad.
"That's all behind me. Injuries happen," he told reporters on Wednesday. "With what I did, it takes about two years to really get back. So, I'm over the hump. Now, I'm feeling as good as I have been in a long time."
Chubb signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with Houston that can be worth up to $5 million. The signing ended a seven-year run with the Cleveland Browns, who drafted him out of Georgia in 2018.

In 2023, Chubb suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL just two games into the season, ending his year prematurely. That injury carried over into the 2024 season as he started the year on the physically unable to perform list. He made his season debut in October but broke his foot in Week 15, keeping him out for the remainder of the year.
In eight games, Chubb recorded 363 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns.
Before his string of injuries, Chubb was a premier running back in the NFL, recording four consecutive seasons with 1,000 or more rushing yards. He had a career-high 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022.
While it might be tough for the 29-year-old to return to that kind of form, he'll look to make a positive impact in Houston after spending the past two seasons mostly watching from the sidelines.
