Micah Parsons Discusses Cowboys Contract Extension Talks, 'Can't Rush the Process'
Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons remains unsure when he and the team will find common ground on a long-term extension.
"Some people like to take their time more than others, can't rush the process," he told reporters Tuesday. "[Team owner Jerry Jones] wants to do it as cleanly as possible. I want to do it as cleanly as possible. So it's just about getting it done as clean and as quickly as possible."
The two-time All-Pro added that his hope is to have an agreement in place "by next month."

The Cowboys had to relax a little bit internally when Parsons signaled his intention to attend mandatory minicamp.
He followed up Tuesday to say he'll be there for training camp, too. Crucially, however, he may not participate in camp without a new contract.
Dallas experienced both sides of this situation last summer, when quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb were angling for raises. Prescott didn't hold out and Lamb did. Both wound up getting what they asked for.
One has to assume the same will be true for Parsons.
The 26-year-old is the Cowboys' best defensive player and they know roughly what it will take to get him to re-sign.
Myles Garrett got $40 million annually from the Cleveland Browns in March, and there isn't another star edge-rusher who's going to get paid between now and Week 1. Any serious offer to Parsons will almost certainly have to start with a four.
Of course, there are many more details to work out in a deal of this scale, but it helps to have a clear starting point.
The two sides still have some time to figure those out before the absence of an accord becomes an actual issue.
