Fire at Giants' Oracle Park Forces Players, Staff to Evacuate Before Game vs. Braves
A fire at Oracle Park forced players and staff to evacuate the stadium ahead of the San Francisco Giants' game against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday.
The San Francisco Fire Department issued a statement on social media, saying that the Fire Department was responding to a cooking fire in a vendor's booth. According to the SFPD, the fire was contained to the cooking area, and there were no injuries reported. The game, scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET, will still be played at that time.
"We thank the fantastic staff and fans for their cooperation during the evacuation at the direction of park staff and fire personnel," the statement read. "We were able to quickly assess the situation and confirm that the fire had been extinguished. There was no extension of the fire, no injuries, and the game will continue as scheduled."

The fire occurred at the vendor booth for Fuku, which serves spicy fried chicken sandwiches.
While the fire was contained to the vendor booth, smoke was seen rising into the stands. Luckily, the stands appeared mostly empty at the time of the fire.
With the fire contained, the attention now shifts to the third game of the series between the Giants and Braves. San Francisco won the first game 5-4 in 10 innings before taking Game 2 3-2. The Giants will look to complete the sweep on Sunday before heading to Colorado for a series against the Rockies this week.
San Francisco, which has missed the postseason the last three years, is sitting in second place in the NL West and holds the third wild card position at 37-28.
