Travis Kelce Salutes Taylor Swift for Buying Her Masters Back, 'It's Finally Hers'
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shouted out Taylor Swift for purchasing the rights to the master recordings of her first six albums.
The topic came up on Wednesday's episode of the New Heights podcast, when podcast guest Shaquille O'Neal played a clip from Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" before saying it was his "favorite song in the world."
"Shout out to Tay Tay," Kelce said while laughing at the 1:37:20 mark of the podcast. "Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back, so it's finally hers, too."
Swift announced Friday on her website that she had purchased the original recordings of her first six albums from the private equity company Shamrock Capital.
"All I've ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to one day purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy," Swift wrote.
Shamrock Capital purchased Swift's album rights in 2020 for an estimated $300 million to $350 million, according to a New York Times report.
Swift did not disclose the cost of the purchase, but wrote on her website that she now owned the rights to the music, music videos, concert films, album art and unreleased songs from the albums.
Kelce and Swift have been dating since 2023. The singer and songwriter has been in attendance to watch Kelce and the Chiefs play in the last two Super Bowls.
