
Rockies Snap Historic MLB Losing Streak by Beating Marlins for 1st Series Win of 2025
The Colorado Rockies earned their first series win of the 2025 season with their 3-2 victory over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
In doing so, Colorado ended an MLB-record streak of 22 straight series losses, which goes back to last year.
Miami jumped ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles from outfielders Jesús Sánchez and Kyle Stowers. Rockies starter Chase Dollander, in his first appearance back from the injured list, prevented any more runs from getting home.

Colorado struggled to solve 2022 National League Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara but manufactured some offense in the top of the fifth.
Right fielder Mickey Moniak drew a walk and stole third. An infield single by Tyler Freeman moved Moniak to third, and he came home on another single by left fielder Jordan Beck. Thairo Estrada's sacrifice fly tied the score as Freeman made it the final 90 feet from third.
A solo homer from catcher Hunter Goodman put the Rockies ahead in the eighth.
Colorado fans had one last scare with right-hander Seth Halvorsen trying to lock down the save. Marlins pinch hitter Heriberto Hernández sent a slider deep to center field, only for Brenton Doyle to make a leaping grab at the wall to prevent extra bases.
The Rockies now have an opportunity to sweep Miami on Wednesday. The teams close out their three-game set at 12:10 p.m. ET.
Colorado is still 11-50 with a minus-182 run differential. But the team has to start somewhere if it's going to avoid having the worst record in modern baseball history.
