Falcons' Kyle Pitts Has Undisclosed Injury Amid NFL Trade Rumors
Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury as he prepares for the 2025 NFL season.
Head coach Raheem Morris confirmed to Marc Raimondi of ESPN that Pitts is dealing with the injury and that his absence from the field is due to it and not a contract holdout. Morris also said that Pitts has been in "every meeting."
"Extremely cautious with Kyle right now and what he's got going on," Morris said. "Obviously, don't talk about injuries this time of year, but definitely being cautious with him, so you won't see him. He's been here, he's done such a great job. ... He's been in every single thing that we've done other than the field, and he's been absolutely outstanding to be around."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Pitts is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to make $10.8 million on his fifth-year option. He would be set to hit unrestricted free agency following the season if the two sides were unable to come to terms on an extension.
He had 47 catches for 602 yards and four touchdowns for Atlanta in 2024. While he hasn't necessarily reached the expectations he had as the No. 4 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, he is still just 24 years old and could be a solid pass catcher for second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
Pitts also could be an intriguing option for a team on the trade market, so his injury could potentially impact his value. The Falcons are reportedly "not aggressively" shopping Pitts.
