Dodgers' Mookie Betts Says He Suffered Toe Injury Walking to Bathroom in the Dark
Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts suffered a toe injury in an unfortunate bathroom incident.
Betts told Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times after Friday's game against the New York Yankees he fractured his toe after banging it against the wall while walking to the bathroom.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Betts is considered "day-to-day" at this point and won't require a stint on the injured list. He's expected to miss the final two games against the Yankees after sitting out the opener.

"We'll probably have him down for the series," Roberts said, "and hopefully he'll be available to hit in a big spot, and then we'll kind of see."
The injury is believed to have occurred on Wednesday night after the Dodgers returned to Los Angeles after a six-game road trip.
Both Betts and Roberts said the injury is just one of pain management. It's not believed he can make his toe worse by playing on it.
This is the second bathroom-related injury for a Dodgers star already this season. Freddie Freeman missed two weeks early in the season due to a sprained right ankle when he slipped getting into the shower at his home.
Freeman only missed 10 games and has been great since returning to the lineup on April 11. The eight-time All-Star is hitting .368/.434/.632 in 46 games.
Betts is off to a slow start, at least by his standards, but he is still having a solid 2025 campaign. The former AL MVP has a .254/.338/.405 slash line as the starting shortstop.
Even without Betts in the lineup on Friday night, the Dodgers were just fine in an 8-5 win over the Yankees. Shohei Ohtani homered twice to lead the reigning World Series champs a victory in a rematch of the Fall Classic.
