All 30 MLB Teams' Top Prospect at Each Minor League Level
In most cases, MLB prospects all get lumped into the same conversation, despite the fact that a 23-year-old playing at the Triple-A level is significantly closer to reaching the big leagues than a 17-year-old just starting his pro career in rookie ball.
While raw tools and long-term upside are always part of the deal with prospects, those start to take a back seat to on-field production the higher a prospect climbs the organizational ladder.
Ahead, we've highlighted each MLB team's top prospect at each level of the minor leagues—Triple-A, Double-A, High-A, Single-A and complex league rookie ball—with the Dominican Summer League excluded from the conversation since that season does not start until June 5.
This should provide a slightly different snapshot of each team's current prospect situation than the usual Top 100 prospect lists and farm system rankings.
Arizona Diamondbacks
1 of 30
Triple-A: LHP Yu-Min Lin
Double-A: 3B LuJames Groover
High-A: OF Ryan Waldschmidt
Single-A: OF Slade Caldwell
Rookie: SS JD Dix
Prospect Spotlight: Outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt was a late-riser in the 2024 draft thanks to some loud batted-ball metrics during his junior season at the University of Kentucky. The D-backs selected him with the No. 31 overall pick, and after a solid pro debut last year, he has a .928 OPS with 15 extra-base hits in 44 games at High-A Hillsboro.
Athletics
2 of 30
Triple-A: OF Colby Thomas
Double-A: LHP Gage Jump
High-A: 3B Tommy White
Single-A: SS Myles Naylor
Rookie: TWP Shotaro Morii
Prospect Spotlight: Left-hander Gage Jump was one of the top high school pitchers in the 2021 draft class, but opted to honor his commitment to UCLA. He battled injuries during his first two years on campus before transferring to LSU and putting together a solid junior campaign. The A's took him with the No. 73 pick in last year's draft, and he has a 1.80 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 67 strikeouts in 50 innings between High-A and Double-A in his pro debut.
Atlanta Braves
3 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Hurston Waldrep
Double-A: RHP JR Ritchie
High-A: RHP Garrett Baumann
Single-A: RHP Luke Sinnard
Rookie: LHP Cam Caminiti
Prospect Spotlight: The Braves have a long history of developing pitching talent, and Luke Sinnard has been an early standout from their 2024 draft haul. The 6'8" right-hander spent last year on the sidelines recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he has popped in his return to the mound this spring, posting a 0.92 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 41 strikeouts in 29.1 innings while showcasing three plus pitches and advanced command.
Baltimore Orioles
4 of 30
Triple-A: C Samuel Basallo
Double-A: OF Enrique Bradfield Jr.
High-A: RHP Michael Forret
Single-A: RHP Keeler Morfe
Rookie: OF Stiven Martinez
Prospect Spotlight: The O's selected Michael Forret in the 14th round of the 2023 draft, signing him to a $450,000 bonus that was triple slot value. Two years later, he is arguably the best pitching prospect in the system and off to a terrific start at High-A Aberdeen with a 1.66 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 29 strikeouts in 21.2 innings while allowing just eight hits and seven walks.
Boston Red Sox
5 of 30
Triple-A: OF Roman Anthony
Double-A: LHP Connelly Early
High-A: SS Franklin Arias
Single-A: SS Yoeilin Cespedes
Rookie: TWP Conrad Cason
Prospect Spotlight: Left-hander Connelly Early raised his prospect stock significantly last year when he logged a 3.99 ERA with 138 strikeouts in 103.2 innings, and he has continued to impress this year to emerge as the top pitching prospect in the system. The 23-year-old has a 1.55 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 29 innings at Double-A, and he could push for a late-season debut.
Chicago Cubs
6 of 30
Triple-A: C Moises Ballesteros
Double-A: RHP Jaxon Wiggins
High-A: SS Jefferson Rojas
Single-A: 1B Cole Mathis
Rookie: SS Ronny Cruz
Prospect Spotlight: The Cubs have challenged Jefferson Rojas aggressively since sending him to Single-A for his age-18 season, and the on-field results are starting to match his raw potential. The 20-year-old is hitting .294/.388/.468 with 12 extra-base hits in 33 games at High-A South Bend, and an early promotion to Double-A could be on the horizon.
Chicago White Sox
7 of 30
Triple-A: C Kyle Teel
Double-A: LHP Noah Schultz
High-A: OF Braden Montgomery
Single-A: SS/3B Caleb Bonemer
Rookie: SS Alexander Albertus
Prospect Spotlight: The White Sox acquired Kyle Teel (184 PA, .887 OPS, 16 XBH) and Braden Montgomery (187 PA, .906 OPS, 20 XBH) in the blockbuster deal that sent Garrett Crochet to the Red Sox during the offseason, and both former first-round picks are off to terrific starts in their organizational debuts.
Cincinnati Reds
8 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Chase Petty
Double-A: RHP Chase Burns
High-A: 3B Cam Collier
Single-A: C Alfredo Duno
Rookie: SS Tyson Lewis
Prospect Spotlight: Don't be surprised if Chase Burns is the top pitching prospect in baseball by midseason. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft has been absolutely dealing to start his pro career, posting a 2.21 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and a 65-to-8 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 40.2 innings. With a fastball that bumps 102 mph and an elite slider, he has the potential to be a true ace-caliber starter.
Cleveland Guardians
9 of 30
Triple-A: OF Chase DeLauter
Double-A: 2B Travis Bazzana
High-A: OF Jaison Chourio
Single-A: SS Welbyn Francisca
Rookie: RHP Joey Oakie
Prospect Spotlight: Will Chase DeLauter ever stay healthy long enough to realize his tremendous offensive potential? The 23-year-old has played just 107 games since going No. 16 overall in the 2022 draft, flashing middle-of-the-order potential with a .904 OPS, 33 doubles, 16 home runs and 67 RBI in 446 plate appearances. He could give the Guardians lineup a major boost at midseason.
Colorado Rockies
10 of 30
Triple-A: OF Yanquiel Fernandez
Double-A: OF Cole Carrigg
High-A: 1B/OF Charlie Condon
Single-A: OF Robert Calaz
Rookie: SS Ashly Andujar
Prospect Spotlight: A rare athlete who saw time at catcher, shortstop, center field and even on the mound during his college career, Cole Carrigg has played exclusively in the outfield this year at Double-A as he moves closer to the big leagues. The 23-year-old has an .819 OPS with eight home runs, 30 RBI and 11 steals in 41 games, and he should start to climb leaguewide Top 100 prospect lists this year.
Detroit Tigers
11 of 30
Triple-A: 2B Hao-Yu Lee
Double-A: C/1B Thayron Liranzo
High-A: OF Max Clark
Single-A: SS Bryce Rainer
Rookie: C Enrique Jimenez
Prospect Spotlight: It remains to be seen whether Max Clark will provide enough extra-base power to be a true superstar, but his floor is extremely high thanks to his speed, center field defense and advanced approach at the plate. Still only 20 years old, he sports a .422 on-base percentage with more walks (37) than strikeouts (28) in 39 games at High-A West Michigan.
Houston Astros
12 of 30
Triple-A: SS Brice Matthews
Double-A: RHP Jose Fleury
High-A: C Walker Janek
Single-A: RHP Cole Hertzler
Rookie: RHP Parker Smith
Prospect Spotlight: Signed for just $10,000 in 2021, right-hander Jose Fleury could be the latest under-the-radar arm to develop into an impact big leaguer out of the Houston farm system. With a 2.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 34 strikeouts in 32 innings at Double-A, he is proving himself against high-level competition, and his strong fastball-changeup combination gives him a high floor as a reliever if he doesn't stick as a starter.
Kansas City Royals
13 of 30
Triple-A: 1B Jac Caglianone
Double-A: C Carter Jensen
High-A: C Blake Mitchell
Single-A: LHP David Shields
Rookie: SS Yandel Ricardo
Prospect Spotlight: Nick Kurtz (ATH) and Cam Smith (HOU) have already reached the majors, but don't be surprised if Jac Caglianone gives them and the rest of the field a run for their money in the AL Rookie of the Year race. The 6'5", 250-pound slugger is hitting .317/.380/.590 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI in 45 games between Double-A and Triple-A, and a call-up could be coming in short order.
Los Angeles Angels
14 of 30
Triple-A: 2B Christian Moore
Double-A: RHP George Klassen
High-A: RHP Chris Cortez
Single-A: C Dario Laverde
Rookie: SS Joswa Lugo
Prospect Spotlight: After an elite season pitching primarily out of the Texas A&M bullpen, there was some belief that Chris Cortez could be the first player from the 2024 draft class to reach the majors after the Angels took him in the second round. Instead, they are stretching him out as a starter and the early returns have been solid with a 3.18 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 45.1 innings over nine starts at High-A.
Los Angeles Dodgers
15 of 30
Triple-A: SS/3B Alex Freeland
Double-A: LHP Jackson Ferris
High-A: OF Josue De Paula
Single-A: OF Eduardo Quintero
Rookie: SS Emil Morales
Prospect Spotlight: For all that's made of the Dodgers' free-spending ways, they also do a great job scouting and identifying talent. Outfielder Eduardo Quintero was far from the most hyped prospect on the 2023 international market, signing for a modest $297,500, but he is on his way to being a consensus Top 100 prospect. The 19-year-old is one of the youngest everyday players in the Single-A California League, and he is hitting .316/.418/.570 with 21 extra-base hits and 22 steals in 39 games.
Miami Marlins
16 of 30
Triple-A: C Joe Mack
Double-A: LHP Robby Snelling
High-A: LHP Thomas White
Single-A: SS Andrew Salas
Rookie: RHP Grant Shepardson
Prospect Spotlight: Joe Mack was the third catcher selected and the No. 31 overall pick in the 2021 draft, and after a slow start to his pro career, he broke out with an .807 OPS, 30 doubles and 24 home runs in 125 games between High-A and Double-A last year. The 22-year-old has continued to impress in the upper levels of the minors this year, and he looks like the catcher of the not-too-distant future in Miami.
Milwaukee Brewers
17 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Jacob Misiorowski
Double-A: SS Cooper Pratt
High-A: RHP Bishop Letson
Single-A: SS Jesús Made
Rookie: RHP Ethan Dorchies
Prospect Spotlight: There is no question Jacob Misiorowski has the stuff to be an impact pitcher in the big leagues, but 60 walks in 97.1 innings last year raised some questions of whether his future might be in the bullpen. The 23-year-old has slashed his walk rate from 14.4 to 10.0 percent this year at Triple-A while posting a 1.60 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 56.1 innings.
Minnesota Twins
18 of 30
Triple-A: OF Emmanuel Rodriguez
Double-A: OF Walker Jenkins
High-A: SS Kaelen Culpepper
Single-A: LHP Dasan Hill
Rookie: OF Eduardo Beltre
Prospect Spotlight: A three-year starter at Kansas State who hit .328/.419/.574 with 32 extra-base hits and 17 steals in 61 games during his junior season, Kaelen Culpepper went No. 21 overall in the 2024 draft as the third college shortstop off the board after JJ Wetherholt (STL) and Seaver King (WAS). In 33 games at High-A this year, he is hitting .311/.413/.492 with 13 extra-base hits and 11 steals.
New York Mets
19 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Brandon Sproat
Double-A: SS/OF Jett Williams
High-A: OF Carson Benge
Single-A: OF Jeremy Rodriguez
Rookie: OF Edward Lantigua
Prospect Spotlight: Injuries limited Jett Williams to 33 games last season, but he is quickly reminding everyone why he is a top-tier prospect. The 5'7" spark plug is hitting .285/.376/.482 with 17 extra-base hits and 11 steals in 39 games at Double-A, and he has started games at second base, shortstop and center field.
New York Yankees
20 of 30
Triple-A: OF Everson Pereira
Double-A: SS George Lombard Jr.
High-A: RHP Ben Hess
Single-A: SS Roderick Arias
Rookie: OF Brando Mayea
Prospect Spotlight: The Yankees gave Brando Mayea a massive $4.35 million bonus in 2023, the third-highest bonus of that year's international signing period behind Padres catcher Ethan Salas ($5.6 million) and Mariners shortstop Felnin Celesten ($4.7 million). After a lackluster showing in stateside rookie ball last year, he is hitting .300/.372/.514 with four doubles, three home runs and four steals in 18 games and angling for an early promotion to Single-A.
Philadelphia Phillies
21 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Andrew Painter
Double-A: SS Aidan Miller
High-A: 3B Carson DeMartini
Single-A: C Eduardo Tait
Rookie: C Alirio Ferrebus
Prospect Spotlight: The Phillies have had the great fortune of not really needing to think about the catcher position since J.T. Realmuto was acquired from the Marlins prior to the 2019 season. Now the 34-year-old is headed for free agency, and even if he is re-signed on a short-term deal, it's time to start looking to the future. Luckily, that future is bright thanks to Eduardo Tait, who posted an .842 OPS with 11 home runs and 73 RBI in his age-17 season and continues to impress in his first full season at Single-A.
Pittsburgh Pirates
22 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Bubba Chandler
Double-A: 2B Termarr Johnson
High-A: IF Keiner Delgado
Single-A: SS/OF Konnor Griffin
Rookie: SS Wyatt Sanford
Prospect Spotlight: How much longer can the Pirates let Bubba Chandler mow down hitters at the Triple-A level? The former 4-star quarterback recruit has taken off since turning his full attention to baseball, and with a 2.27 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 61 strikeouts in 43.2 innings at Triple-A, he has a compelling case for the title of best pitching prospect in baseball right now.
San Diego Padres
23 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Ryan Bergert
Double-A: C Ethan Salas
High-A: SS Leo De Vries
Single-A: LHP Kash Mayfield
Rookie: RHP Humberto Cruz
Prospect Spotlight: The Padres spent almost $10 million to sign Ethan Salas ($5.6 million) and Leo De Vries ($4.2 million) as the consensus top prospect in back-to-back international classes, and they are widely regarded as the two best prospects in the system. De Vries does not turn 19 years old until October, but he is already playing at the High-A level where he is hitting .279/.364/.471 with 16 extra-base hits in 37 games, putting him on a short list of candidates to be the No. 1 prospect in baseball heading into 2026.
San Francisco Giants
24 of 30
Triple-A: LHP Carson Whisenhunt
Double-A: 1B Bryce Eldridge
High-A: OF James Tibbs III
Single-A: OF Dakota Jordan
Rookie: SS Jhonny Level
Prospect Spotlight: Despite an unsightly 5.42 ERA and 1.62 WHIP at Triple-A last season, Carson Whisenhunt remained on the top prospect radar thanks to 135 strikeouts in 104.2 innings. The 24-year-old has a 3.34 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 56.2 innings back at Triple-A this year, and he has made significant strides with his walk rate (11.3 to 5.3 percent) and opponents' batting average (.271 to .229).
Seattle Mariners
25 of 30
Triple-A: C Harry Ford
Double-A: RHP Michael Morales
High-A: OF Lazaro Montes
Single-A: SS Felnin Celesten
Rookie: RHP Chia-Shi Shen
Prospect Spotlight: The roster for the High-A Everett AquaSox is absolutely loaded with future MLB talent, and shortstop Colt Emerson, outfielder Jonny Farmelo, second baseman Edwin Arroyo and shortstop Tai Peete would all be the pick for almost any other team. However, none of them offer the offensive upside of Lazaro Montes, who is hitting .280/.393/.561 with 22 extra-base hits and 10 home runs in 44 games while showcasing arguably the best raw power of any prospect in baseball.
St. Louis Cardinals
26 of 30
Triple-A: IF Thomas Saggese
Double-A: SS JJ Wetherholt
High-A: RHP Chen-Wei Lin
Single-A: LHP Quinn Mathews
Rookie: C Rainiel Rodriguez
Prospect Spotlight: The Cardinals know how to identify catching talent, and Rainiel Rodriguez has quickly gone from an under-the-radar $300,000 signing on last year's international market to a top-tier prospect. The 18-year-old posted a 1.145 OPS with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 38 RBI over 42 games in the Dominican Summer League last year, and he has an absurd .408/.544/.939 line with 12 extra-base hits in 16 games in his stateside debut. Next stop, Single-A as an 18-year-old.
Tampa Bay Rays
27 of 30
Triple-A: SS Carson Williams
Double-A: 1B Xavier Isaac
High-A: RHP Santiago Suarez
Single-A: OF Theo Gillen
Rookie: SS Alberth Palma
Prospect Spotlight: The Rays farm system is loaded, and one of the most compelling debates in this exercise was Theo Gillen vs. Brailer Guerrero as the top prospect at Single-A Charleston. Gillen went No. 18 overall in last year's draft on the strength of one of the most polished hit tools in the prep class, and he is batting .293/.438/.520 with eight extra-base hits and 12 steals over 22 games to open the year.
Texas Rangers
28 of 30
Triple-A: RHP Emiliano Teodo
Double-A: SS/3B Sebastian Walcott
High-A: C Malcolm Moore
Single-A: RHP Caden Scarborough
Rookie: SS Yolfran Castillo
Prospect Spotlight: Sebastian Walcott took a major step toward turning potential into production last season, and now he is one of the youngest players at the Double-A level. The 19-year-old is hitting .242/.337/.424 with 12 doubles, six home runs, 22 RBI and eight steals in 42 games, and while he is still playing shortstop for the time being, his future is likely at third base or in right field with Corey Seager signed through 2031.
Toronto Blue Jays
29 of 30
Triple-A: 2B Orelvis Martinez
Double-A: OF Yohendrick Pinango
High-A: SS Arjun Nimmala
Single-A: C Edward Duran
Rookie: LHP Johnny King
Prospect Spotlight: Shortstop Arjun Nimmala is the top overall prospect in the Blue Jays system, and he is off to a strong start with a .917 OPS and 23 extra-base hits through 41 games. However, right-hander Trey Yesavage is giving him a serious run for his money with a 2.40 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and a staggering 74 strikeouts in 41.1 innings as he makes his pro debut after going No. 20 overall in last year's draft.
Washington Nationals
30 of 30
Triple-A: 3B Brady House
Double-A: RHP Jarlin Susana
High-A: RHP Travis Sykora
Single-A: SS Luke Dickerson
Rookie: SS Angel Feliz
Prospect Spotlight: One of the top prep arms in the 2023 draft class, Travis Sykora was selected in the third round but given first-round money with a $2.6 million signing bonus. He posted a 2.33 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 85 innings at Single-A in his pro debut, and so far this year he sports a 0.60 ERA and 0.47 WHIP in 15 innings while striking out 32 of the 51 batters he has faced.
