Eagles Post Photo Trolling Critics After Tush Push Rule Change Fails to Receive Votes
Despite some sweating that the Philadelphia Eagles' signature play might not be allowed in 2025, the tush push lives on after surviving a vote from NFL owners at the league meetings on Wednesday.
The proposal from the Green Bay Packers to ban the play fell short of the required 24 votes needed, meaning the tush push will remain legal going forward.
In a great bit of trolling from the Eagles, they posted a picture on X from a game against the Packers with the caption "push on."

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the official vote tally from owners was 22-10 in favor of the ban. The NFL requires a 75 percent majority to approve any rule changes.
There was a lot of uncertainty leading up to this vote about whether or not it would pass. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Tuesday the expectation is it was going to be "pretty close."
That turned out to be accurate, finishing just two votes from going in the other direction. Ironically, in yet another cruel twist for the Packers, the final vote result wound up matching the score from Green Bay's wild-card round loss to the Eagles in January.
The Eagles may have gotten a boost leading up to the vote by Jason Kelce. Their former All-Pro center revealed he was invited to Minneapolis to speak on behalf of the tush push and answer any questions teams or the league might have.
After the voting came out, Kelce seemed pleased with the result.
There was very little to suggest the proposal from the Packers was about more than just trying to get rid of a play that many teams have found difficult to stop. They cited player safety as a key factor to make it illegal, but the NFL's internal data says there has never been an injury on the play thus far.
Things couldn't be better for the Eagles right now. They are fresh off winning a Super Bowl, had another draft class that looks strong and get to raise their championship banner in the opening game of the 2025 regular season against the Dallas Cowboys on national television on Sept. 4.
