Roger Goodell's NFL Contract Extension Talks Reportedly Pushed to 'Later Date'
Even with two years remaining on his current contract, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is reportedly on the verge of receiving a new deal.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Goodell's contract extension will be discussed at a "later date" after she originally reported the 32 team owners were expected to vote and approve an extension on Wednesday.
Goodell previously signed a three-year extension in October 2023 that runs through March 2027.

The 66-year-old Goodell has worked in the NFL since 1982, when he was hired as an administrative intern by then-commissioner Pete Rozelle. He was named chief operating officer and executive vice president in 2001.
Following Paul Tagliabue's retirement in September 2006, Goodell was elected as his replacement in a vote by NFL owners.
During Goodell's tenure as commissioner, the league's revenue rose to $23 billion in the last fiscal year after he set a goal of reaching $25 billion by 2027.
The NFL has increased its global reach with international games part of the regular-season schedule every year since since 2007, with the exception of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the NFL adopted the title of commissioner in 1941, Goodell is the second-longest-tenured person to hold the job going into his 20th season. Only Pete Rozelle (1960 to 1989) had a longer tenure.
