Shedeur Sanders Signs NFL Rookie $4.6M Contract With Browns in Video, Photo

Shedeur Sanders made things official with the Cleveland Browns on Monday.

The quarterback signed a four-year, $4.6 million rookie contract with the Browns after being selected in the fifth round of last month's NFL draft. The deal includes a $447,380 million signing bonus.

Sanders was all smiles after officially becoming an NFL player.

The rookie deal isn't quite as much as Sanders could have gotten had he been drafted in the first round, where he was widely projected to be taken. Regardless, Sanders has found his place in the NFL and is looking to make a name for himself.

Sanders had an outstanding collegiate career, spending two seasons at Jackson State and two seasons at Colorado. In his final year with the Buffaloes, he threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns while leading his team to a 9-4 finish.

He was the No. 23 overall player and the No. 2 quarterback on the final big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

His reported approach to interviews and the pre-draft process as a whole led to him falling to the fifth round, but he's ready to put that behind him and focus on the team that drafted him.

"I think what happened is I had a great interview and a great process with the Browns, and that's why they were able to pick me," he said on his introductory conference call after being drafted. "So anything outside the organization is really a non-factor to me now because this is my focus and this is where my mind is, doing everything I can to make this team better."

Now having inked his first contract, Sanders will look to compete for a starting spot in a quarterback room that features Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel.

If he can earn a starting spot as a rookie and put together a few solid seasons, he could be on his way to a much bigger second contract.
