As he revealed last month, he already has plans for his first big purchase: a house for his grandmother.
"Definitely get my grandma a house, man," Golden told On3's Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman before the draft. "We lost our property a couple of years ago. That's somewhere I grew up when I was younger. It'd be a blessing to be able to get that back for my family. That's where they all grew up. That's where I grew up."
Selected No. 23 overall in the draft, the explosive wideout is expected to make an immediate impact in Green Bay’s offense as he begins his NFL career.
Golden turned heads at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine with a blazing 4.29-second 40-yard dash—the fastest among all wide receivers.
He’s coming off a standout senior season with the Texas Longhorns, tallying 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns, tying for the most in the SEC.
Golden continued to shine in the postseason, posting 249 yards and a touchdown on 11 receptions during Texas’ run to the College Football Playoff semifinals, where they fell to eventual national champion Ohio State.
Golden is stepping into a youthful Packers wide receiver group alongside 25-year-olds Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed, adding more speed and playmaking potential to the mix.
