Boogie Fland to Reportedly Visit Florida After Withdrawing from 2025 NBA Draft

Timothy RappMay 18, 2025

Former Arkansas guard Boogie Fland reportedly will visit Florida on Monday as he seeks a new school in the transfer portal, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

His potential addition would be a big one for the defending champions, who lost Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, Will Richard and Denzel Aberdeen this offseason, among others, and could lose Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu if they choose to stay in the NBA draft.

Florida has brought in a pair of 4-star recruits ahead of the 2025-26 season in forward C.J. Ingram and guard Alex Lloyd, and also added a pair of 4-star transfers in guards AJ Brown and Xaivian Lee.

Currently, that ranks them 18th in 247Sports' recruiting rankings for the Class of 2025. But landing Fland—who is currently ranked the No. 8 overall player in the transfer portal—would be a huge addition.

As a freshman for Arkansas, Fland averaged 13.5 points and 5.1 assists across 21 games (18 starts), shooting 37.9 percent from the field and 34 percent from three. He was fantastic in the first half of the season before a right hand injury suffered in January cost him a lengthy stint on the bench.

He returned for the NCAA tournament in March, coming off the bench for the Razorbacks in their run to the Sweet 16. But he clearly wasn't the same player following the injury, averaging just four points per game in the three contests. Whether it was rust or the lingering effects from his hand injury, he didn't look like the same player who had been one of the best freshman in the country earlier in the season.

Still, his upside is significant, even if he chose to withdraw his name from the NBA draft this offseason, and landing him would be a major coup in Gainesville. Todd Golden nabbed Martin, Chinyelu and Sam Alexis in the transfer portal last year, and all three played an important role in the team's run to a title. Following that up with the addition of Fland would significantly bolster the team's hopes of winning a repeat championship.
