Giannis, Bucks Reportedly Schedule Meeting About Team's Direction amid Trade Rumors
The Milwaukee Bucks and superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo are set to meet and discuss the direction of the team moving forward, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
"I was told the Bucks made contact with Giannis Antetokounmpo early as this morning and sources relayed to me that a meeting is expected to be scheduled for mid next week," Haynes reported Saturday. "This is where Giannis is going to have a chance to speak with Bucks brass and talk about the direction of the team."

Luka, Cade Eligible for MVP
ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Antetokounmpo was "open-minded" about exploring a potential change of scenery "for the first time in his career" on Monday.
The two-time MVP helped lead Milwaukee to its second NBA Finals victory in 2021, but the team has struggled to string together deep postseason runs since.
The Bucks haven't been to the Eastern Conference Finals since their championship win and have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for three consecutive seasons. This included a five-game defeat at the hands of the Indiana Pacers to end their 2024-25 campaign.
Antetokounmpo's reported concerns regarding the direction of the team likely stem from Milwaukee's uncertain short-term future.
Star point guard Damian Lillard suffered a torn Achilles in Game 4 against Indiana, putting his 2025-26 season in jeopardy. Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis, who have both been teammates with Antetokounmpo over the past five years, could hit free agency during the upcoming offseason.
Despite Milwaukee's murky outlook, the two-time MVP has remained one of the most dominant two-way players in the NBA.
Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 60.1 percent from the field in 67 starts during the 2024-25 season. He was named a finalist for MVP.
While Antetokounmpo hasn't officially requested a trade yet, his upcoming meeting with the Bucks could give him insight regarding his future with the organization or elsewhere.
