Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Expected to Be Ready for Training Camp After Surgery on Injury
The Miami Dolphins received some positive news Sunday regarding wide receiver Tyreek Hill's health.
During a Fox-7 appearance (h/t Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald), agent Drew Rosenhaus revealed Hill's second wrist procedure was a planned one so pins could be removed. "We expect him to be ready for the start of training camp," Rosenhaus said, adding that "the recovery is going great."
On Wednesday, ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques reported Hill posted on his Snapchat account that he underwent the surgery after previously undergoing the first one of the offseason for "what Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel described as a ligament issue."

McDaniel provided an approximate timeline in February when he said the receiver likely wouldn't start football activities until "around summertime going into training camp."
Ideally for the Dolphins, this will help the eight-time Pro Bowler return to form after he posted a solid-but-unspectacular 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns in 2024. While plenty of receivers would be pleased with those numbers, he just led the league with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdown catches the prior year.
Hill's wrist seemed to play a role in the drop in production, as Louis-Jacques noted he initially suffered the injury during a joint practice with the Washington Commanders in August. He played through it despite Rosenhaus saying doctors recommended season-ending surgery.
Perhaps Hill's disappointment with the 2024 season that included his own drop in production and Miami going 8-9 played a role in his January comments when he told reporters (2:25 mark), "I'm out. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I gotta do what's best for my career, because I'm too much of a competitor to be just out there."
However, he has since explained such comments were made in "frustration," per Louis-Jacques. He also said, "I'm taking full accountability for what I said," per Pro Football Talk. "I'm gonna come back next year. I wanna stay with the Dolphins."
Last month, Miami general manager Chris Grier said a Hill trade "is not anything that we're pursuing," per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
It seems like both the receiver and team are ready for a bounce-back effort in 2025, and Hill took an important step toward full strength with a second planned surgery as he looks to avoid the type of injury that held him back in 2024.
