Titans' Cam Ward Says He Embraces QB Competition vs. Will Levis Ahead of Rookie Season
Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, is looking forward to competing with Will Levis for the Tennessee Titans' 2025 starting quarterback job.
"I always embrace competition," Ward told reporters at a press conference on Saturday (6:25 mark).

"I always compete in everything I do with myself, other quarterbacks, receivers," he added. "Anything we're doing, we compete. So, it really don't bother me. At the end of the day, it's a job. So, that's how you got to approach it."
On Thursday, Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said that his goal is to create competition between Ward and Levis in training camp during an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show.
Tennessee's struggles under center contributed to the team's 3-14 finish in 2024.
Levis was inconsistent throughout 12 starts, completing 63.1 percent of his throws for 2,091 yards and 13 touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions. He was benched during a Week 15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Ward is the third straight quarterback to be selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Chicago Bears signal-caller Caleb Williams and Carolina Panthers passer Bryce Young, the previous top selections, both earned starting jobs ahead of Week 1 of their respective rookie seasons.
Despite Levis' poor 2024 production, it's understandable that Tennessee may want to see both quarterbacks in training camp before making a decision. Ward is coming off an impressive senior season at Miami, throwing for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns while getting picked off seven times.
The 22-year-old may not have a spot atop the Titans' depth chart secured just yet, but he's welcoming competition with Levis.
