George Pickens Reportedly Was 'Concerned' About Steelers QB Room Before Cowboys Trade
Wide receiver George Pickens was concerned about the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback situation before he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.
The Steelers' QB room currently consists of veterans Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson and rookie Will Howard while the team awaits a response from Aaron Rodgers regarding whether he will agree to a contract with the team.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Meanwhile, the Cowboys have nine-year veteran Dak Prescott, a three-time Pro Bowler, at the helm. Prescott was notably the NFL's runner-up for the MVP award in his last full season (2023).
Pickens has one year left on his rookie deal, per Over the Cap. So this is a huge year for him as he finds himself in line to potentially get a massive second contract.
The former Georgia star has shown great promise over his first three seasons, posting a 17-game average of 62 receptions for 1,006 yards. Last season, Pickens amassed 59 catches for 900 yards and three scores.
It does seem like the 6'3", 200-pound wideout has even more to offer and can become a perennial 1,000-yard receiver if he hits his ceiling. Working with Prescott, one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, can certainly help on that front.
In addition, Pickens being the WR2 in town helps as well. Defenses have to pay attention to CeeDee Lamb, one of the game's elite wide receivers and clearly its best one in 2023. That should allow Pickens more room to roam, especially with the team already having a stout tight end in Jake Ferguson.
Ultimately, Pickens' new spot looks like a good one for him on paper. We'll see how it turns out soon enough, of course, but the promise is there.
