Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Reportedly Has Surgery to Remove Screws for Wrist Injury
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly had surgery on his wrist, according to a post on his Snapchat account, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.
"Hill had his wrist surgically repaired earlier this offseason after playing through what Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel described as a ligament issue," Louis-Jacques wrote. "Hill's most recent surgery involved the removal of previously placed screws, a source told ESPN, and has been 'the plan all along.'"
Hill initially suffered a wrist injury in a joint practice with the Washington Commanders last August. Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN that doctors recommended season-ending surgery. However, he played through the injury and suited up for all 17 games.

The 2024 campaign was a tough one for the Hill, a five-time First-Team All-Pro who has now played nine NFL seasons. He finished with 81 catches for 959 yards and eight touchdowns after posting a 119/1,799/13 stat line in 2023. His receiving yardage and touchdown totals led the league.
Obviously, Hill is capable of elite play, and the 2024 season was likely the result of him playing through an injury that could have been a season-ender.
Now Hill is rehabbing that injury, but it'll take time for him to recover. Per Louis-Jacques, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that Hill wouldn't likely return to partaking in football activities until "around summertime going into training camp."
Hill and the Dolphins are attempting to bounce back from a tough 8-9 season after making the playoffs each of the last two years. Miami notably finished with the league's No. 2 scoring offense in 2023 and won 11 games, earning an AFC Wild Card berth. So the hope is obviously to return back to the playoffs, and Hill returning to 100 percent health is a big step on that front.
