Dolphins 2025 NFL Schedule Released for Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill's Playoff Push

Andrew PetersMay 14, 2025

After a down year in 2024, the Miami Dolphins are looking to bounce back in 2025.

Injuries proved to be detrimental for the Dolphins a year ago, but they still have a roster capable of putting up some of the best offensive numbers in the league as long as they manage to stay healthy.

With a pivotal year ahead for the Dolphins, here's a breakdown of their upcoming 2025 slate.

Analysis

Just two years ago, Miami put up some of the best offensive numbers in the league as Tua Tagovailoa threw for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns and Tyreek Hill put up 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Dolphins were far from that version of themselves last year.

Tagovailoa missed six games because of a concussion, and Miami's offense suffered without him. Hill hauled had just 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns, marking his lowest receiving yards total since 2019 when he played just 12 games and tying his fewest touchdowns in a season.

Once Tagovailoa was back on the field, he looked like his typical self and put together a stretch where he threw for 300 or more yards in three consecutive games.

Still, the Dolphins didn't have enough to make a late-season playoff push, and they finished the year 8-9.

If there's one thing to take away from last season, it's that Miami needs Tagovailoa on the field. Hill and the rest of the offense are at their best when Tagovailoa is under center, so the Dolphins will need to ensure the quarterback can avoid missing significant time this year.

If it's a healthy season, Miami should have no issues competing for a playoff spot.

Pivotal Matchups

While the Buffalo Bills are still the kings of the AFC East, the Dolphins' divisional opponents are mostly manageable this year.

Beating the Bills twice seems a bit unrealistic, but stealing a game against Buffalo would go a long way. From there, there's no reason why Miami shouldn't take care of business against the New York Jets and New England Patriots as those two squads continue their rebuilds.

Outside of the division, home games against the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals will be crucial. Those two teams should be near the top of the conference and will be a good measuring stick for how much of a contender the Dolphins are this year.
