Deion Sanders Says Buccaneers 'A Wonderful Spot' for Shilo After Signing UDFA Contract
Deion Sanders says the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are "a wonderful spot" for his son and former Colorado safety Shilo Sanders.
"I'm thankful. Tampa's a wonderful spot," Deion said on the Sanders family's draft weekend Twitch stream. "Coach [Todd] Bowles is a defensive-minded guy. He's brilliant."
Shilo signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent shortly after the Saturday conclusion of the 2025 NFL draft.

Hours earlier his brother, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round.
Shilo and Shedeur both followed Deion to Colorado ahead of the 2023 season.
Shilo started 21 games over his two seasons with the Buffaloes. He finished his senior campaign with 67 total tackles (two for loss) in addition to one sack, one forced fumble and one defensive touchdown.
Both he and his brother went into the draft without an official agent and under the guidance of their Pro Football Hall of Famer father.
Shilo joked during the stream on Saturday that he had ultimately hired an agent because "dad was our agent, and that hasn't been working out too good."
According to NBC Sports' Mike Florio, Shilo signed with Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey of Rosenhaus Sports before inking his contract with the Buccaneers.
The former Colorado safety will get the chance to work with Bowles, who is heading into his fourth season as the Bucs' head coach. He has worked with star safety Antoine Winfield Jr. as head coach or defensive coordinator since Winfield's rookie season.
Shilo could now get the opportunity to compete for a roster spot on a defensive backfield depth chart that currently thins out behind Winfield.
He won't be the only defensive rookie joining the Bucs this season. Outside of targeting Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in the first round, Tampa Bay largely focused on defensive players in the 2025 NFL draft by adding cornerbacks Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish, offensive linebacker David Walker and defensive linebacker Elijah Roberts.
