Shilo Sanders Says He's Hired Agent, Jokes About Deion After Shedeur's NFL Draft Slide
Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders made light of how the 2025 NFL draft has gone for his family during a live stream on Saturday.
Sanders, who is the son of Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders and brother of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, had a laugh, saying: "Dad was our agent, but that hasn't been working out too good. So today I had to sign with an agent."
Shedeur and Shilo did not hire an official agent during the pre-draft process, opting instead to receive guidance from their father, who is also a Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback.
While Shedeur was viewed widely as the second-best quarterback in the 2025 draft class for weeks and months leading up to the draft, he experienced an unexpected slide.
After the Tennessee Titans took Miami quarterback Cam Ward first overall and the New York Giants took Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart 25th overall in the first round, Sanders fell to Day 2.
However, his drop did not end there, as the New Orleans Saints took Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough in the second round, followed by the Seattle Seahawks taking Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and the Cleveland Browns taking Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round.
After not being picked in the fourth round either to start Day 3, Sanders was finally taken by the Browns with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round.
Despite the fall, Shedeur still has a chance to make an impact as soon as his rookie season since Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson could miss the entire campaign with a torn Achilles, while none of Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco or Gabriel are entrenched as a surefire starter.
As for Shilo, he may have a chance to go late in the draft, although it is perhaps more likely that he will have to settle for signing somewhere as an undrafted free agent.
Shilo recorded 70 tackles, one interception, four forced fumbles and three passes defended at Colorado in 2023 before delivering 67 tackles, two passes defended and no picks last season.
