Tulowitzki Ties Kipnis with Season-High 20-Game Hitting Streak
Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki pushed his hitting streak to 20 games in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, matching Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis for the longest streak recorded so far this season, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Tulowitzki still had a poor game Wednesday night, as his lone hit in five at-bats was a bases-empty, two-out infield single in the first inning.
He's largely made a living off of singles during the 20-game stretch, with just four of his 28 hits going for extra bases, giving him an Ichiro-esque .354/.400/.456 batting line.

Since the streak started on June 15, Tulowitzki's season-long batting line has moved from .304/.336/.490 to .318/.354/.481, with his slugging percentage notably dropping nine points, even as his batting average and on-base percentage have seen significant improvement.
He's having an excellent offensive season for a shortstop, but with just nine homers in 76 games, he isn't quite living up to his own lofty standards.
Of course, it's still been more than enough to feed the constant trade rumors, even though Tulowitzki said in May that he hasn't asked the Rockies to explore a deal.
With the team sitting at 35-49 entering Thursday's game against the Atlanta Braves, it makes sense to at least entertain offers for the superstar shortstop.
