Deion Sanders Posts Biblical Message After Son Shedeur Slides to 2025 NFL Draft Day 2
As Shedeur Sanders waits to hear his name called on day two of the 2025 NFL draft, his father is posting motivational messages online in an apparent show of support for his son.
In a post on X, Deion Sanders wrote that his Bible talks about how God "uses the foolish things to confound the wise" and He "chose the weak things of the world that he may put to shame the strong!"

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Sanders sliding out of the first round didn't come as a total surprise. There had been rumblings leading up to the draft that a number of teams had a second-round grade on the Colorado quarterback.
The discussion around Sanders throughout the entire pre-draft process has been strange. There was criticism from at least one coach coming out of the combine calling him "brash" and "arrogant" during his team interviews.
ESPN's Kalyn Kahler wrote a story on April 16 about Sanders' combine interviews, noting he "gave long and thorough answers" that involved "sharing more than the question asked for."
There didn't seem to be anything particularly egregious from those interviews that would negatively impact Sanders' stock.
Instead, it just seems like the NFL's evaluation of Sanders came to the conclusion he's a day-two prospect.
Yahoo Sports' Nate Tice wrote in his scouting report that Sanders "has the profile of a player I’d be more comfortable taking somewhere on Day 2" because he is more of an "efficient pocket passer" like an Alex Smith or Kirk Cousins rather than someone who is going to elevate an offense.
B/R's NFL scouting department, which ranked Sanders as the No. 23 overall prospect, compared him to "Geno Smith with less arm talent."
Smith was a second-round pick (No. 39 overall) in 2013. It took him a while to find his niche in the NFL, but it eventually happened, and he's carved out a nice career for himself.
Sanders will get the opportunity to do the same thing when his name is eventually called.
