Deion Sanders, Shilo React to Shedeur Sliding in 2025 NFL Draft Party Videos
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders were just as bemused as a lot of people as they watched Buffs quarterback Shedeur Sanders slide out of the first round.
Coach Prime was shaking his head as the New Orleans Saints used the No. 9 pick on Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.

Deion also quipped about the age of 40-year-old Joe Flacco after the Cleveland Browns decided against taking a quarterback on Day 1, while Shilo suggested "it's something going on" when the Browns bypassed Shedeur at No. 5:
Deion's joke about Flacco could make things a bit awkward. The Browns have the No. 33 and 36 picks, either of which they can use to take Shedeur since they still need a quarterback. He and Flacco may soon be sharing a locker room.
His drop was telegraphed with more and more NFL insiders and draft evaluators projecting him as a possible second-round pick.
The Athletic's Jeff Howe wrote the explanation was pretty straightforward: Teams simply didn't view him as a sure-fire first-round talent.
"These weren't reactionary opinions in the moment, either," Howe said. "Throughout the pre-draft process, evaluators consistently told The Athletic they wouldn't rank Sanders ahead of any of the six first-round quarterbacks in the 2024 class. Another said Sanders would get a third-round grade in a year with better QB prospects."
Leading up to the draft, Deion told USA Today's Jarrett Bell it was "laughable" to see some of the negative buzz surrounding Shedeur, which he also described as "venomous."
But there were some clear flaws with Shedeur's game. He got sacked 94 times across 24 starts, so his pocket awareness needs improvement. He's not a dynamic athlete. And Howe wrote Sanders' "arm strength and accuracy have been described by league evaluators as good but not great."
Sanders might wind up making his skeptics look foolish. He didn't average 306.8 passing yards per game and complete 71.8 percent of his passes at Colorado by sheer luck.
The rookie QB clearly won't be lacking in motivation, either.
