Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, Diontae's Top Landing Spots After 2025 NFL Draft Day 1

Julia StumbaughApr 25, 2025

Round 1 of the 2025 NFL draft is over, and several teams are still in need of wide receiver help.

The Arizona Cardinals used the No. 8 pick to draft Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan on Thursday night. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers followed that by selecting in Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka at No. 19, while the Green Bay Packers brought in Texas' Matthew Golden at No. 23.

Now that the draft's top wideouts off the board, other NFL clubs could end up turning to free agency.

Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen and Diontae Johnson are some of the biggest veteran names still available spring.

Here's a look at some of their best landing spots now that the first 32 draft picks are off the board in Green Bay.

Cleveland Browns

BROWNS FLACCO

Cooper played parts of three seasons in Cleveland, including his Pro Bowl 2023 campaign, before he was traded to the Buffalo Bills last October.

The wideout credited Browns quarterback Joe Flacco in part for his success in 2023. Now that Deshaun Watson's injury status has left Flacco back on top of the Cleveland quarterback depth chart heading into 2025, would Cooper consider a reunion with the Browns?

The Browns traded back from the No. 2 pick, therefore passing on the chance to add wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, to draft Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 5 instead.

Cleveland will need to address their offense next, and Cooper could be a solid option to add receiver depth around Flacco next fall.

Los Angeles Chargers

Jim Harbaugh got the running back he's been looking for when the Los Angeles Chargers drafted UNC's Omarion Hampton on Thursday night.

Now, the Chargers could turn their focus to acquiring more targets for Justin Herbert.

One option is Allen, who played for the Chargers from 2017 to 2023 before spending last season with the Bears.

When asked about the Chargers potentially bringing back Allen earlier this month, Harbaugh answered, "Anything is possible. That would be cool."

Now that the Chargers have addressed the running back position, the franchise could potentially turn to free agency to bolster a young wide receiver room currently led by Ladd McConkey.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys already have a WR1 in place with CeeDee Lamb.

That could potentially give the franchise the depth to take a chance on Johnson, who bounced between the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans last season.

Johnson earned a Pro Bowl nod after passing for 1,161 yards during his 2021 season with the Steelers, but has been unable to reach that level of productivity since.

The Cowboys could hope to give him another shot in a WR2 role behind Lamb if the franchise is looking for more wide receiver depth in free agency this spring.
