Matthew Golden Plans to Buy Grandmother a House After Signing NFL Contract
Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden has already planned his first purchase after signing a rookie contract as he prepares for the 2025 NFL draft.
"Definitely get my grandma a house, man," Golden told On3's Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman. "We lost our property a couple of years ago. That's somewhere I grew up when I was younger. It'd be a blessing to be able to get that back for my family. That's where they all grew up, that's where I grew up."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap ๐ธ

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The 21-year-old is coming off a breakout senior season with the Longhorns, hauling in 58 receptions for 987 yards. His nine touchdown catches were tied for the most in the SEC.
Golden was an important contributor for Texas during the regular season and stepped up during the team's College Football Playoff run. In three CFP games, he caught 11 passes for 249 yards and a score.
He also showcased his speed at the 2025 scouting combine in Indianapolis, as his official 40-yard dash time of 4.29 seconds was the fastest among all wide receivers.
In the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department, Golden was projected to be selected by the Washington Commanders with the No. 29 overall pick.
B/R NFL Scoutย Dame Parson highlighted the receiver's versatility in his scouting report.
"Golden makes plays from multiple wide receiver positions, X, slot, & Z," Parson wrote. "He separates from coverage well with his innate ability to decelerate and accelerate in and out of his breaks."
Golden has visited with several teams throughout the pre-draft process, including the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dallas and Tampa Bay own the No. 12 and No. 19 overall picks, respectively.
The first round of the 2025 NFL draft will begin on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
