NFL Coach Says Travis Hunter 'Could be Justin Jefferson, but He Can Really Play' CB
Many are still wondering whether Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter would be best as a wide receiver or a cornerback in the NFL, and he's already drawing comparisons to some of the best players in the league.
"Oh my God! He could be Justin Jefferson, but he can really play corner," a passing coordinator told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman. "Itโs gonna be an interesting case study because weโve never seen this."
Hunter dominated on both sides of the ball on his way to earning the 2024 Heisman Trophy. He produced 92 catches for 1,258 yards and 16 touchdowns plus a rushing touchdown on offense while adding 36 total tackles, 11 passes defended, four interceptions and a forced fumble on defense.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The demands of the NFL will be much more than Hunter has been used to, but he's expressed confidence that he would still be able to excel on both sides of the ball. He recently saidย he'dย rather quit playing footballย than commit to playing one position in the NFL.
Still, there are some who believe Hunter would be better served as a full-time cornerback.
"I think he is a defensive back wanting to play receiver, not the other way around," an offensive coordinator told Feldman.
Hunter is expected to be one of the top three players selected in the first round on Thursday, so it will be fun to see how he's used by the team that drafts him.
