Myles Hinton NFL Draft 2025 Scouting Report for Philadelphia Eagles OT
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Michigan OT Myles Hinton with the No. 191 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Myles Hinton is a three-year starting tackle, including 10 starts at left tackle in 2024 inside Michigan's run-first (61-39 run-pass split), gap-based run scheme. He has a massive, well-rounded build with good arm length, solid athletic ability and play strength.
Hinton wins as a run-blocker using his mass, quickness and length to close space, cover up and wall off defenders with the speed to clear lanes on the move as a lead blocker around the edge and on screens. He struggles to refit and re-leverage late in the rep once engaged due to inconsistent footwork that fails to close space and step on the toes of defenders, leading to overextension and getting slipped.
Hinton has an impressive blend of size and quickness in pass protection to get to his spot, slide and mirror rushers up the arc and laterally with flashes of independent hands to disrupt the timing of pass-rush moves. He will drift and overset when being set up to open the door too far to inside counters while still utilizing two-hand strikes, which leaves him susceptible to clean losses. Hinton also shows clunky footwork on stunts and twists that can take him off levels and create leakage.
Overall, Hinton has shaky sustain skills in the run game due to erratic technique and footwork. However, he has the building blocks of a swing tackle due to his combination of size, light feet and quickness to match up one-on-one in pass protection and lead around the edge in the run game.
