The heated conversation eventually became physical.

Cena will be participating in the final WrestleMania of his career and is looking to capture a record-breaking 17th world title win.

His feud with Rhodes started with his infamous heel turn at the Elimination Chamber, attacking him following a shared glance with The Rock.

Rhodes confirmed that he was just as shocked by the result as fans were during a Thursday appearance on First Take.

"I think I was as surprised as the rest of the audience because that's a thing that we never expected in the sports entertainment, pro wrestling realm," Rhodes said (1:05 mark). "No matter how you look at it. Entertainment, sport, that suspension of disbelief. But still, the idea that John would be bad, would be a heel, just an absurd thought."

Rhodes and Cena previously faced off multiple times on Raw leading up to their WrestleMania clash.

The next time the two see each other in the ring will be in the main event of Night 2 at WrestleMania 41 on Sunday.
