John Cena, Cody Rhodes Have Final Face-Off at WWE SmackDown Before WrestleMania 41
John Cena and Cody Rhodes faced off for the final time at WWE SmackDown before their upcoming match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.
Cena confronted Rhodes at T-Mobile Arena on Friday night before the pair went back and forth.
The heated conversation eventually became physical.
Cena will be participating in the final WrestleMania of his career and is looking to capture a record-breaking 17th world title win.
His feud with Rhodes started with his infamous heel turn at the Elimination Chamber, attacking him following a shared glance with The Rock.
Rhodes confirmed that he was just as shocked by the result as fans were during a Thursday appearance onĀ First Take.
"I think I was as surprised as the rest of the audience because that's a thing that we never expected in the sports entertainment, pro wrestling realm," Rhodes said (1:05 mark). "No matter how you look at it. Entertainment, sport, that suspension of disbelief. But still, the idea that John would be bad, would be a heel, just an absurd thought."
Rhodes and Cena previously faced offĀ multiple timesĀ on Raw leading up to their WrestleMania clash.
The next time the two see each other in the ring will be in the main event of Night 2 at WrestleMania 41 on Sunday.
