Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Says He Spends $1.3M Per Year to Take Care of His Body

Mike ChiariApr 17, 2025

Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb suggested this week that he spends more than $1 million per year to take care of his body.

In an interview with Complex.com's Brighid Tully, Lamb said he spends $50,000 every other week on recovery, which works out to $1.3 million for an entire year.

Lamb said he pays for ice baths, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, red light therapy and hyperbaric chambers, adding:

"The list could go on and on. What I do for a living, it's very physical, and some short weeks are more lethal than your regular seven-day schedule. So I'm just staying on top of that and always trying to replenish the body, stay hydrated, keep my muscle functioning up, and trying to get a lead on my opponent."

Lamb is far from the only high-profile athlete known for spending significant sums of money in an effort to remain healthy and ready for game days.

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry's financial adviser told The Athletic's Dan Pompei last year that Henry spends $240,000 annually on "body maintenance."

It was also reported by The Ringer's Bill Simmons (h/t Yahoo's Alexa Mikhail) back in 2016 that now-Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James spends $1.5 million per year on his body. James did, however, dispute that rumor in March.

Lamb, 26, became one of the NFL's highest-paid wideouts last year when he signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension with the Cowboys.

Originally the No. 17 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft out of Oklahoma, Lamb has consistently been among the best and most consistent receivers in football since entering the league.

Over his five NFL seasons, Lamb is a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time First Team All-Pro with career numbers of 496 receptions for 6,339 yards and 38 touchdowns.

The Cowboys disappointingly went 7-10 and missed the playoffs last season, but Lamb was among the team's lone bright spots, registering 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six scores in 15 games despite dealing with some nagging injuries.

Dallas will need the best version of Lamb possible in order to bounce back next season, and it seems as though he is fully committed to being exactly that.
