Projecting the Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at WWE WrestleMania 41

Kevin BergeApr 17, 2025

WrestleMania 41 will be the biggest weekend of the year for WWE, delivering matches and moments that will define the company for a long time to come.

What will John Cena do to take the Undisputed WWE Championship away from Cody Rhodes and become a 17-time world champion?

Which side will Paul Heyman take in the Triple Threat between Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins?

Can Iyo Sky retain the Women's World Championship against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair?

Will Charlotte Flair prove Tiffany Stratton is not on her level?

These questions and more hang in the air ahead of The Show of Shows, but the biggest moments may come from what fans do not expect.

Which stars will change their direction at 'Mania? Could we see an unforgettable heel or face turn that changes WWE's direction?

These are the most likely heel and face turns for WrestleMania 41.

Face: Dominik Mysterio

Few men have redefined themselves in the past five years quite like Dominik Mysterio.

Once just the happy-go-lucky son of ultimate babyface Rey Mysterio, Dirty Dom became the most hated man in wrestling when he joined The Judgment Day by betraying his father.

After his second betrayal, turning on Rhea Ripley for Liv Morgan, the 28-year-old reinforced fans' hatred against him, but he also showed his own initiative for the first time in his career.

This allowed Mysterio to begin his slow breakout that may finally come to fruition at WrestleMania 41 when he pulls out the big win for the Intercontinental Championship at the expense of stablemate Finn Bálor.

The Irishman has sowed the seeds for this face turn by belittling Mysterio week after week. He has shown little respect for a supposed friend and ally.

If Dirty Dom does capture a title his uncle, Eddie Guerrero, was famous for holding, he could have a similar rise in popularity to Latino Heat.

Mysterio can break away from toxic friends and become a champion who takes short cuts in entertaining ways that the fans cheer.

Heel: Seth Rollins

SmackDown

What is Seth Rollins' role in WWE in 2025? He has straddled the line between face and heel during his rivalry with CM Punk.

While The Visionary considers himself justified in his attempts to kick The Best in the World out of WWE, Punk is popular with the WWE faithful.

In many ways, Rollins' motivations align best with Drew McIntyre, who is a lasting heel on SmackDown after his rivalry with Punk.

It seems all signs are pointing to The Visionary turning villain sooner than later, and he could pull it off at WrestleMania.

He believes Punk's success is a direct threat to WWE's existence, and he will stop at nothing to stop The Second City Saint. But how far is too far for the WWE Universe?

Could Rollins choose to align himself with The Rock and John Cena? Could he turn Paul Heyman to his cause to screw over both Punk and Roman Reigns?

The possibilities are vast, and Rollins has been known to make a splash at The Show of Shows. It is all a matter of where he is going next.

Raw could use another top heel, especially with Jey Uso likely to become the red brand's world champion at WrestleMania.

Heel: Paul Heyman

While Seth Rollins' path has many branching options, Paul Heyman has a choice between three men.

The primary question is whether he will side with CM Punk or Roman Reigns. However, Rollins also could provide a compelling offer, given the favor he feels The Advocate owes him.

This is a huge match with limited stakes. The winner needs to come out with a clear direction, and that could come with Heyman playing the key role in who wins.

Betraying Reigns, Punk or even both might set him up for a return to a heel role.

It is even possible he could walk out on everyone and align himself with a new client in the coming weeks. The Wise Man has clearly indicated his admiration for Bron Breakker in the past.

Whatever happens, Heyman's role will likely change, and that could well end with a return to his more villainous roots.

Heel: Bianca Belair

Monday Night RAW

While Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley is a battle between WWE's three top babyfaces in the women's division, it's likely one of them will turn heel soon.

While Mami has teased a dark edge to her character, it still feels like most signs point to The EST of WWE going bad.

Belair still has unresolved drama to deal with between Naomi and Jade Cargill. She could do so at WrestleMania by backing up one of the two women on Night 1.

If she keeps her allegiances unclear, though, she can pull off a major shocker on Night 2 by cheating her competition and winning the Women's World Championship.

On the road to WrestleMania, Belair has received the strongest negative reaction of the three women, and she can ride that to a heel run to sell herself as a solo megastar once again.

Face: Ludwig Kaiser

Monday Night RAW

Will Ludwig Kaiser even make it to WrestleMania? The outlook is bleak, but he still could have a role to play for Gunther.

The Ring General is walking into a fight that he is likely to lose against Jey Uso, but he is coming in confident.

A loss could easily cause Gunther to spiral and blame Kaiser no matter what role he plays in supporting The Ring General.

It is hard to imagine Kaiser at this stage as a face, but it could be the push he needs to get back into a credible spot on the card.

He is immensely talented and in need of a fresh start. A turn and feud with Gunther could be the first step in aligning him with real-life girlfriend Tiffany Stratton as well creating a young on-air power couple.

Face: Solo Sikoa

6 of 7

Since the night after WrestleMania 40, all signs have pointed to Solo Sikoa breaking out in WWE.

However, his year has been filled with ups and downs, leading all the way to missing this year's card at the event.

However, stablemate Jacob Fatu is likely to be United States champion after 'Mania, setting up a tension between The Samoan Werewolf and Sikoa.

If Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa choose to side with Fatu, Sikoa would find himself in a difficult position and pushed into a babyface role.

While he still has heat with fans, he may have a better future reuniting with his brothers, Jimmy and Jey Uso.

This is likely the next stage of The Bloodline saga and has the potential to take Fatu and Sikoa, especially, to new heights.

Heel: Bayley

7 of 7
SmackDown

What is Bayley's role in WWE? She seems to have found herself a comfortable spot as a veteran, but she still has potential to be a champion.

The Role Model has teased some frustration with her current role, especially after losing to Lyra Valkyria for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.

She and The Valkyrie have formed an alliance to combat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, but this does not feel like a long-term team.

Instead, the best bet is Bayley going back after the Women's Intercontinental Championship to try to elevate her legacy.

That show of frustration a couple weeks back comes off as a hint of something bigger to come, a possible dramatic turn where The Role Model attacks the champion to set herself up to take her gold.

The story writes itself unless WWE wants to continue developing the angle of Roxanne Perez feuding with Bayley.

However, with no movement on that angle since Elimination Chamber, the odds are better that WWE is tossing it to the side.
