Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton went off script during their verbal joust on the April 4 edition of SmackDown. Stratton referenced Flair's multiple divorces, and Flair responded by saying Stratton's boyfriend was DM'ing her on the side.

At least in wrestling terms, last Friday night was a return to normalcy. Flair attacked Stratton after the champion was victorious over Roxanne Perez.

The pair may have exchanged some receipts. Fightful Select (via Joseph Lee of 411Mania) reported the altercation was "very stiff."

On the whole, though, WWE were satisfied with the segment, which went off as it was scripted.

This is not an ideal time for wrestlers to go into business for themselves and ad lib promos. WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year, and deviating from the plan, even in a minor way, can cause an unnecessary disruption.

In the case of Flair and Stratton, on the other hand, the buzz surrounding April 4 may have only heightened the stakes of their upcoming encounter.

Uncle Howdy Injury Impacted Plans for Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss returned to the ring in the women's Royal Rumble match, her first action in two years. She was also a combatant in the women's Elimination Chamber match on March 1.

Still, her general usage has remained sporadic, and that may be due to circumstances outside of her control.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported WWE was potentially looking to wrap the five-time women's champion into a storyline with The Wyatt Sicks. With an injury sidelining Uncle Howdy, however, the stable is being kept off television.

Now, reinserting The Wyatt Sicks into the picture is tough with all of the WrestleMania 41 matches pretty much locked in.

WrestleMania isn't the narrative capper it once was. A lot of the same feuds going into the show will continue into Backlash in May. Uncle Howdy and his cohorts may have to keep waiting until they're on WWE programming again.

The downstream effect is that Bliss is getting lost in the shuffle.

Chelsea Green's Count-Out Wasn't in SmackDown Script

A lot of people were surprised to see Chelsea Green counted out in her match against Zelina Vega on SmackDown, and that group included WWE officials.

Carrier reported Green didn't hear the referee making his 10-count, so her surprise when the bell rang was genuine. The referee, meanwhile, continued counting despite that not being the planned finish.

According to Carrier and PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson, there's no heat on Green backstage since it was an honest mistake. Johnson added that Vega may have been scripted to win the match anyway, so the count-out didn't change the original finish.

WWE's creative team wasted no time in capitalizing the situation. NXT's Luca Crusifino published an open letter to company management calling attention to a perceived injustice. Writing on Green's behalf, he said the count-out was "procedurally questionable and competitively unjust":

It's safe to assume a rematch between Green and Vega is on the cards at some point.
