Becky Lynch, Lyra Beat Liv Morgan and Raquel to Win WWE Tag Titles at WrestleMania 41
Women's intercontinental champion Lyra Valkyria and surprise teammate Becky Lynch defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 on Sunday to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.
After Valkyria's original teammate Bayley was sidelined from WrestleMania with an injury, a surprise partner was revealed—none other than The Man.
Lynch's music hit to the loudest pop of the night from the Las Vegas crowd as she returned to action for the first time since June 2024.
While Rodriguez and Valkyria battled outside the ring, Lynch capitalized in her return, hitting Morgan with a Manhandle Slam to secure the pinfall.
Valkyria now mirrors what Lynch once was during her iconic "Becky 2 Belts" era—earning the nickname "Lyra 2 Belts" as she now holds both the women's intercontinental and WWE tag team titles.
Morgan and Rodriguez beat Bianca Belair and Naomi for the titles in February, but both Superstars have continued their singles pursuits as well, including Rodriguez challenging Valkyria for the women's IC title last month.
The Valkyrie caught Raquel in a pinning combination to retain the title, and the plans of Morgan and Rodriguez to attack her after the match were foiled when Bayley came to her aid.
With Bayley and Valkyria striking up an alliance, they were announced as part of the tag team gauntlet match on the April 11 episode of SmackDown to determine Liv and Raquel's opponents for WrestleMania.
Before that, Bayley received a shot at Lyra's Women's Intercontinental Championship on the April 7 Raw. Valkyria was victorious in an exciting, back-and-forth match, and while The Role Model initially turned down a handshake from Lyra, she changed her mind and ended up hugging her.
In the gauntlet match on SmackDown, Bayley and Valkyria were the first team to enter, meaning they would have to beat five other tandems in order to become No. 1 contenders.
Bayley and Valkyria did precisely that, taking down the teams of Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, Natalya and Maxxine Dupri, Michin and B-Fab, and Piper Niven and Alba Fyre.
After their win, Valkyria and Bayley were confronted in the ring by Morgan and Rodriguez, making a WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania official.
While Lynch and Valkyria have both enjoyed plenty of success in the singles ranks, they were at a significant disadvantage on The Grandest Stage of Them All in terms of their experience as a team.
Despite that, they got the better of Morgan and Rodriguez at WrestleMania, resulting in Valkyria winning her first tag title and Lynch becoming a two-time women's tag team champ.
