Becky Lynch Discusses WWE In-Ring Status Amid Rumors Ahead of WrestleMania 41

Mike ChiariApr 12, 2025

Becky Lynch continues to keep things close to the vest as it relates to her status with WWE.

While speaking as a guest at the Ultimate Improv Show on Friday night, Lynch commented on her wrestling career, saying: "It's WrestleMania season, isn't it? I'm not wrestling anymore. Maybe one day, but not right now. But my husband is."

Lynch has not been seen in a WWE ring in nearly a year, as her last match was on the May 27, 2024, episode of Raw, losing a Women's World Championship steel cage match against Liv Morgan.

Fightful Select (h/t Sean Rueter of Cageside Seats) reported that Lynch's WWE contract expired on June 1, making her a free agent.

However, Fightful Select (h/t SI.com's Zack Heydorn) later reported in January that The Man had indeed inked a new contract with WWE.

A subsequent report from Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) in February noted that Lynch hadn't yet been given concrete plans for her in-ring return.

There was plenty of speculation that Lynch would show up on the debut episode of Raw on Netflix in January or as a surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match in February, but neither of those scenarios came to fruition.

Given that WrestleMania 41 is next weekend, it may have gotten to the point for WWE where the decision-makers did not see a clear spot for her on the card within the framework of everything that has been built for months.

That would suggest Lynch could be a candidate to make a surprise appearance at WrestleMania itself, or on the post-WrestleMania edition of Raw or SmackDown.

Regardless of what the plan is for the Irish Superstar, it will be a huge deal when she returns since she is one of the most popular and accomplished women's wrestlers in WWE history.

As a seven-time women's champion on the main roster, one-time WWE women's tag team champion, one-time NXT women's champion and one-time women's Royal Rumble winner, Lynch already has a Hall of Fame résumé to her credit.

Her connection with the fans is also unrivaled by most, and if WWE brings her back into the fold in the near future, it will provide a huge boost to the post-WrestleMania programming.
